Dr. Lindsay Malloy, Director

Dr. Lindsay Malloy is Assistant Professor of Psychology at Florida International University. She received her Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of California, Irvine in 2008 and did her postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge in England. Her research interests include children’s memory and narratives and how children and adolescents share their experiences with others. Dr. Malloy’s research appears in journals such as Child Development, Developmental Psychology, and Psychology, Public Policy, and Law and has been funded by the National Science Foundation and Department of Health and Human Services. She received a Rising Star Award from the Association for Psychological Science (2011) and a Junior Academic award from the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (2010).

Allison Mugno, Doctoral Student

Allison Mugno is a doctoral student in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest University in 2004 and then worked as a research assistant and laboratory coordinator in the Children's Memory Lab under the direction of Dr. Peter Ornstein at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her primary research interests include the development of children’s memory, child suggestibility, and individual differences in event memory.

Laura is completing her B.S. in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Business at Florida International University. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue an M.D. and potentially work in orthopedics.

Juliana completed her B.A. in Psychology at Florida International University. She plans to pursue an M.S. in Criminal Justice and a Ph.D. In Forensic Psychology.
Fernando Alvarez, Jr.
Fernando completed his B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Biology at Florida International University. He was a Pre-Medical student and is applying to medical school in 2017 to pursue his M.D. and become a pediatrician.

Stephanie Sardinas
Stephanie is completing an M.S. in the Forensic Psychology program at Nova Southeastern University. She is currently working as the Laboratory Manager for Dr. Philip Stoddard's Neuroethology and Behavioral Ecology Laboratory at Florida International University. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.

Claire is completing her B.A. in Psychology and B.S. in Criminal Justice at Florida International University, as well as certificates in Pre-Law, Professional & Public Writing, and Crime Scene Investigation. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a dual Ph.D. in Psychology & Law and J.D. specializing in Criminal Law.

Andrea Arndorfer, Former Doctoral Student
Andrea Arndorfer was a former doctoral student in the Department of Psychology at Florida International University. She received her B.S. in Psychology and Criminal Justice Studies from Iowa State University in 2010. Her research interests are centered around the interaction between psychology and the law. Her main interests are in eyewitness memory. Specifically, she is interested in the underlying processes used in eyewitness memory and in making eyewitness identifications. Additionally, she is interested in the tactics and procedures used during lineup administration and in the psychological processes involved in police interrogations and the elicitation of confessions. In the fall of 2016, she started as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Criminology at California State University, Fresno.
Daniella Villalba, Former Doctoral Student
Daniella Villalba was a former doctoral student at Florida International University. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Florida International University in 2008. Her main research focus is eyewitness memory. Specifically, she is interested in the underlying factors that lead eyewitnesses to become overconfident in their lineup identifications, and in finding ways to prevent overconfidence. She is also interested in examining investigative interviewing techniques that can help witnesses provide more detailed and accurate accounts of the witnessed event.
